The Shoot
Finally the day has come and gone. Jeff and I had been dying to work with Matt since the moment we booked him back in July 2010. Now that we've had our engagement shoot and have gotten the chance to work with Matt professionally, I am so glad he is the photographer we chose. Matt was incredibly laid back and having so much fun throughout the day that he instantly relaxed us both. We really had no idea what to expect for our engagement shoot, but between Matt's direction and the fact that we were all having fun, it turned out to be an amazing and successful day.
Matt met us at Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg, Pennsylvania. I learned of Knoebels on my local board on The Knot. Knoebels is a free admission park and you basically just pay for the rides you go on. This saved us a lot of money since we didn't have to pay for parking or admission for three people. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and the park was busy, but large enough that it wasn't a problem at all. We got on all of the rides almost instantly and Matt even came on some rides with us to get some awesome pictures.
I was really impressed with how clean and tidy the park was. The rides were in great condition and they seemed really well cared for. I had contacted the park several weeks in advance to make sure we could take professional pictures. They just requested that when we arrive, we go to the administration building to let them know we are there. The man we spoke to basically let primary park employees know we were there taking pictures and that it was ok. No one bothered Matt at all about having a camera.
